Hidden Requirements

I called DirecTV and was told that I am not buying this unit. All units are sent to dealers as a lease item. If I ever disconnect, I would still be required to box it up and ship it back. If I want to buy a receiver, it may only be done through DirecTV and it would cost $499. So please be conscious you are NOT buying this item. Plus it would cost $6 extra per month (which I am okay with)and I would have to begin a new two year agreement. For example, if you are at a year and a half, you would be stuck for another two years. So, cost of regarding $95 plus $6 a month for 24 months, total cost $239 and you don’t even own the receiver and have to ship it back if you disconnect service.

The H24 Receiver is not a DVR it is a HD receiver.

Talked with 6ave that I ordered the product from they were friendly and professional with me with returning the H24 and buying a Directv HR24 High Definition Directv Plus Mpeg-4 Dvr (Hr24) Hd Dvr from them. so if you looking for a DVR this is NOT the product you want. see link underneath for the DVR product listed on Amazon.

Beware of DirecTV “lease” scam

I purchased this receiver from a dealer (instead of DirecTV) to keep out of the way of another 2 year lease commitment with DirectTV. My plan was to use it for 1 month in my guest bedroom, while my parents were living with me, then discontinue the on a monthly basis receiver charge after that. When I called DirecTV, they insist they OWN this receiver in spite of my purchasing it from an individual else and wanted it back! Even though I salaried someone else $99 for it — from an authorized DirectTV retailer on Amazon. Apparently, the $99 “purchase” is in truth a DirectTV lease charge and not a “purchase”. I’m not kidding folks — this is a total scam — DO NOT BUY — DO NOT go with DirectTV unless you liked to be manipulated and controlled.
